Money Changes Everything was written during the COVID period — a time when there was no shortage of themes to reflect on. It was an unprecedented moment in our lives, and I felt compelled to capture some of its struggles and emotions through music.
The opening track, The Chills, describes my reaction to receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine, a personal and unsettling experience. Holding On was written for a fundraiser to help raise money to provide food for the poor and elderly, reminding me of the importance of community during crisis. Another track, Sun of a Midnight Son, explores depression and the heavy impact it can have on our lives, especially in such uncertain times.
This album became a way of documenting not only my own experiences, but also the wider challenges and emotions that people everywhere were facing.
